Debt Recovery Case (Kuala Lumpur)

Case Amount: RM 4,500,000

Background (Cause)

A wealthy business owner spotted a smart and driven young man and invested in him to establish an outsourcing company specializing in financing services between clients and banks. At first, the young man indeed generated substantial profits for the owner.

However, as his income grew, he gradually fell into the whirlpool of high spending and self-indulgence:

  • Luxury spending: designer bags, luxury cars, high-end watches
  • Nightlife addiction: frequenting nightclubs and entertainment venues
  • Bad habits: promiscuity, drug use, reckless extravagance

Eventually, his lifestyle far exceeded his actual income, leading to a broken cash flow and even embezzlement of company funds.

First Debt Collection Attempt (Failed)

Initially, the owner hired a team that used violent methods. Since the young man had already fled, the collectors turned to harassing and intimidating his parents, including:

  • Splashing red paint on their doorstep
  • Damaging property
  • Verbal threats and intimidation

As a result, the young man’s parents called the police, putting the owner in a worse situation — the debt remained unrecovered, and he was investigated by authorities.

NOVAREX's Intervention (3-Win Model)

The owner then approached NOVAREX, clearly stating his wish to resolve the matter under the “3-Win Model”:

  • Client (the owner) — minimize losses as much as possible
  • Debtor’s family — maintain dignity while resolving the crisis
  • Company (NOVAREX) — handle legally, professionally, and effectively

Through special channels, NOVAREX’s team discovered that the only asset owned by the young man’s parents was a fully paid house valued at around RM 900,000.

Instead of intimidation or violence, we:

  • Personally visited the parents to introduce ourselves and explain our purpose
  • Held honest communication, pointing out: “If this continues, both you and your son will be unable to hold your heads high”
  • Proposed a friendly solution to rebuild trust between both parties

In the end, the parents agreed to sell their house to repay part of the debt. The owner accepted the arrangement and agreed to close the case.

Case Closure & Follow-up

To ensure the elderly parents still had a place to live, NOVAREX:

  • Introduced a reliable property agent to help them sell the house quickly
  • Assisted in renting a new home and even covered three months’ rent and deposit
  • Helped them avoid the fear of being left homeless

Later, the young man also returned to work and reintegrated into society, starting a new chapter in life.

Core Value

" Violence is not the only way to resolve problems — the 3-Win Model works just as well! "

In this case:

  • The owner recovered part of the funds, avoiding prolonged lawsuits and risks
  • The debtor’s family retained dignity and a place to live
  • NOVAREX achieved a legal, effective, and humane debt recovery
